Airtel was a good company, provided at giving good service at reasonable price, they were the best in class and I used to tell that "Hey, I have an Airtel connection, Its Really great. You get one too". But Sadly now I would never tell that.
Airtel Services are still good. But they are pretty good at cheating people too.
1) Earlier I had a postpaid connection, and I wanted to stop the connection, I went to the Airtel Shop, Surrendered the sim, along with a letter.
They said the connection would be terminated. But guess what? They did not ... I received a bill , then they started calling on the landlines and telling that you have to pay... Blah.. Blah... But I did not pay, called up the store manager, had a conversation with him. He said sorry .
And it was rectified.
2) One day , I receive a message, telling that they deducted 90 Rs from my balance for hello tunes. I called up the customer care telling that I did not activate it. They said, its an Offer Sir.
I said, if its an offer give it for free. Don’t charge..They said, the balance would be back in 1 hr. And it was.
3) Countless times they activated one or the other stupid service, and I call them , they stop it. And like bloody mosquito, comes right back!
4) They claimed that I used more than 50 mb of 2G data in 30 mins! .. and cut 150 Rs ,
(Overpriced 2G rates)
5) The offers 1p/2s are all taken of! ... and they think they can torment us ! .. 6) The Broadband rates are way to high! .. Are their cables made of gold ? and dont get me started at their Fair Usage policy.
7) The 3g Dongle plans are cr@p! ..
I would give to Airtel, they have really good Speed , and is reliable (Had an internet Blackout with airtel internet, and no one helped us for quite some while). But when it comes to pricing, they are terrible.
Airtel is like the Big kid in the Park, he thinks he can do anything, and nothing would happen.But looks likes the smaller kid in the park is way cooler than him, and it wont be far when airtel would lose it all!
Well it did lose me. I am moving to Docomo, and would write about Docomo soon.
