I had applied for a broadband connection on the last week of july, 2008. Please note that i am writing this complaint after 4 months of absolute nonsensiacal explanations from airtel and their customer care.
I paid their marketing executive (who was very prompt in coming to my office to fill up the form and take the money) rs. 500 for the basic connection and rs.1850 for a wireless router. Within a week, i was informed by the same marketing executive, one mr. Swamy, that airtel had discontinued giving connections to sarjapur main road area. I said okay but requested that my money be returned.
He said that it would be and within a month, i received a dd for the initial rs. 500 that i had paid for the connection. Till today i have been chasing and following up with airtel regarding my 1850.
I have come to the conclusion that its gone. My hard earned money has just become pocket money for airtel. It is absolutely pathetic and sad that one the biggest and most recognized brands like airtel indulges in petty theft of this nature. If i had the energy and inclination, i could have even taken these cheapsters to the court but i have desisted from doing so because i am genuinely disillusioned and tired of this nonsense.
