Best in the country

Been using it for almost 2 years now. Had the reliance broadband for 1 year and you can read my review for it.

This was on the other hand a pleasant surprise.

I got it under some independence day scheme for 500 rupees. The airtel guy gave me a modem and a landline phone. I manually added a belkin wifi router with it after a few months.

speed has been consistent and reliable. plus this is actually unlimited. you cross your limit so speed becomes slow, now slow is not extremely slow, it is good enough for regular surfing(not youtube though) and yet you will not exceed your bill.

They have a pretty straight forward data plans, no night or day scheme, slabs of 5 GB, 10, 15 and 30 with slabs of 2 mbps and 4 mbps and yes the free calls schemes have helped my family, some 3000 minutes and all. and you can use the landline and internet at the same time(thank god)

Never has there been a day that the connection went bust

Now the issues I had

the beetel modems are horrible, they are the only brand supplied by airtel and they go bust exactly 5 days after the warranty period expires(seriously)

on the flipside you can buy a modem yourself and the airtel guy will come and install it with no complaints whatsoever. I am currently using a TP-Link modem along with a belkin wifi router

switching the plans is fairly easy, call them and tell them, now the customer care experience can actually be better if u own an airtel mobile, which I don’t(idea and vodafone) but still they do send me regular sms for my bill, and new schemes

and yes the phone customer care is actually responsive, you don’t have to wait more than a minute to get to a customer care guy, , they have common sense and if they cannot help me they can send a representative the very next day, he shall call and confirm which is good enough.

the only issue I once had was with switching from 2 mbps to 4 mbps, I was receiving regular emails for the new 4 mbps plan, but the customer care said that 4 mbps is not available in my area.

i went to the local airtel office(for bill deposit) and just casually asked the guy in the broadband section about the issue. he sort of knew what was going on and he took my details and number. in the evening he called me and asked me to call the customer care to switch the plan which they did this time. after two days I got the alert for the new plan being updated. and it worked. Although my issue was resolved I still feel it was a bit strange.

still the experience I had with reliance, this in comparison is actually like a dream

there is a reason why airtel is number one. and now I know.
