I had subscribed for their BB connection 4 month back. While visiting the store and after interacting with their representative, it all looked good. So, I took their 200 MBPS plan for 999/- per month for 3 months PREPAID.
For the initial few days it worked fine but after that the connection/signal quality started to deteriorate. There were annoyingly frequent Ping drops, which indicated unstable connectivity to my little understanding.
They talk about Speed; But more than Speed, Stability is a bigger issue. If I have a Ferrari which stops after every 100Mts, then what’s the use of such car?
After complaining also, the issue seems to have no permanent solution.
More over, as I was facing issues, I decided not to renew any further. Since it was a PrePaid plan, I thought that the connection will be disconnected automatically after the subscription period is over. But, to my surprise, they automatically renewed the plan for next 3 months without my consent or proper communication on such policy(if any). It was in a way, they forced me into a renewal and kept calling 4-5 times a day for paying up the dues(which should not have accrued at all).
After contacting with them on this they are saying, even it’s a Prepaid plan but still the customer has to call and cancel, otherwise they will hold the customer responsible and liable for payment of advance money!
So, I realized the their perversity and made a formal request. Even that took 7 Days for a disconnection, which again they say is their policy and it will be added in the dues(thankgod they dont have a 70 day disconnection policy).
My point is, when one subscribes for a PrePaid plan, it means that the customer agrees to pay & consume only for the plan period. How can the customer be forced into an advanced renewal again and held liable for payments.
Ultimately, I succumbed to their Trap and had to pay, coz I don’t have the time and tenacity to get into legal battle with them.
I’ve enquired my friends and neighbors and I’m not the only one who has been cheated like this.
I’m sure AIRTEL doesn’t have a proper answer to my question, coz they have set this trap intentionally!
So, please be careful if you are thinking of an AIRTEL BB Connection.
