2 good 2 bad: I am using airtel broadband for past 5 months. earlier I used Tata photon+(very very unreliable). (GOOD) airtel is good in terms of speed. I never found less than 2 Mbps.(when that was my data plan) Later I upgraded to 4 Mbps and this is also delivered every time.
(BAD) But the connection is not reliable. When I got the connection, my link used to be down for 1-2 days in week.(for around 1 month). It took lot of trouble and repeated phone calls to customer care to correct that. My friend, who stays nearby, has Airtel connection but he never had this issue. So, I will not put the blame entirely on Airtel. Something must have been wrong. But the good thing was (GOOD) that technicians came whenever I called. They never tried to escape the situation.
(BAD) Now the second problem is in data usage tracking. My data limit is 30 GB (at 4 Mbps) n then 256 kbps unlimited. They have some data usage checking section on their website. It never works correctly. . I use nearly 1 GB daily but the site will show (after, say, 15 days) that I have used only 200 MB. Today my new billing cycle has just started and the software says I have used 22 GB. It is a very big problem because if u hit your data limit 7-8 days before your billing date, you will be choked to death by 256 kbps speed. I think most people will be compelled to buy extra GBs which are very costly. Or you will be scared of hitting the limit n use much less.
However, I keep a software on my computer which tracks my data usage. I have written this review only to make anyone aware that such software exists that can help track your usage. install it n airtels evil strategy will fail.
