Airtel might be a good ISP when it comes to providing the services. But, the initial services which it provides s*cks. I would like to narrate a stressful experience that I had lately.
After a bit of research, I decided to go for Airtel Broadband connection. I had a talk with a Customer Service Representative (CSE) and she suggested me various plans available. I zeroed in on a plan called - 512 kbps Combo 555. Modem fee was also waived off for me, thanks to the corporate offer provided to all the employees of my company.
Before applying for the connection, the lady (CSE) did the feasibility check to see if is possible for them to provide the connection in my area. And she gave the green light and declared that everything is ok and I can go ahead with filling the form and making the payment. After doing the needful, everything would be taken care of by the Airtel Team and I would get the broadband installed at my place within a weeks time.
*Such are the promises\statements which were made to me by that lady.
Then they sent a guy to my place for collecting the payment and getting the form filled. I made the initial payment of 350 bucks (as the modem fees of 500 bucks was waived off) and filled the form.
So far so good.
Then I started getting calls from Airtel guys as they wanted to confirm my address. I wonder how many times do they need to confirm the address as I got their calls more than 10 times in 2-3 days. These calls started getting on my nerves already but I kept my patience. Then came the bigger monster which gave me a real headache. Even after confirming my address 10 times, I could not see anyone visiting my place for the installation. I called up the customer care to find out the status. After quoting the reciept number, they informed me that we cannot provide you the connection as the address of installation is not covered up by Airtel!
I was like.. so what do I do? Give me my money back.. I mean you are simply sitting on this problem and not even informing the customer about the issue and when customer enquires you pass the information with so much proud. How sick!
Even if it is 350 bucks but why do I let you keep my money for your no service or do I say harrassing service?? I will not. They noted my request and said that they will make sure that I get the money refunded within 15 days. They also gave me a complaint\request number.
I was like.. you better do that else I will take you to the consumers court.
I didnt hear anything from them till 15 days. Then I called up again and quoted my complaint number so that I need not repeat the whole story all over again. Can you imagine it took the CSE guy around 15 minutes to figure out what exactly do I need!! I aksed him to pass on the call to his superviser. He did that. Then the superviser also kept me on hold for 10 minutes. Then he told me that the status of my service order is not yet closed and hence it is taking time. He gave me a new complaint\request number and assured me that he will get the matter sorted out asap.
Now lets see how it goes!
They might have thought.. barking dogs seldom bite.. but they dont know that this dog bites!
