I purchased Airtel USB modem for my computer to connect to Internet on 14th Oct.
Airtel websites wireless internet section claims this device gives you good internet speeds, high bandwidth and it would work on EDGE technology.
I even called the support basically for confirmation purposes and asked what is the average speeds that I should expect using this device the person handling the call said it’s around 8-10kBps and also told that you can get max of 24kBps.
These claims are totally false.
I am getting 2-3kBps speeds which are not even good for checking the emails on gmail etc.
The usb modem manager always shows GPRS and EDGE facilities are not provided.
I have been calling customer support 121 they raise the request to their backend but till now there is no resolution.
Whoever is looking for a data card or usb modem for internet Don’t even think of buying or going for airtel wireless services.
