I would advise not to go for an airtel 3G card at this point of time, due to the following reasons
1) 3G service is available only in 3 places in South, Chennai, Banagalore & Coimbatore..3 G is yet to role out in other places in south...
2) Customer service is pathetic. Try calling the toll free no..u will get to hear the music & the line will get disconnected most of the times if youre lucky. You will get to speak to someone who does not have much clue about 3G services ( lack of product training). You ask him whether roaming charges of Rs.15/MB will be applicable..he will just say I will put you on to my senior & the call will get disconnected..
3) Pls read the hidden costs. Roaming charges is too much..Rs.15/MB i.e 15 x 1000 = Rs.15000/GB..It is ridiculous..I think Mittal wants to recover the 3G license fees within 1 year. Reminds me of early days of roaming charges..when mobile Roaming was introduced.
4) Though Airtel had a good reputation, in this case I am quite disappointed with the service, tariff, lack of information on the website & the customer service executive..
