I live in Indore (Madhya Pradesh). Just brought a Airtel Digital TV The dealer asked me not to open the set top box pack; and that the Engineer who will come to install will unseal the pack. The Engineer was to come a day later, but he called me and came the same evening. When he opened the seal and unpack the box, he could not find the Remote and the batteries. He called the dealer and the dealer had a talk with the Engineer and his boss! The Engineer set up everything else, and told me that I shall receive the remote next day. He was so unperturbed as if this is normal thing. Three days have passed, and I have not received any Remote device.
Everyday, I am calling the Engineer, but he perhaps is helpless, or so he seems. Today, I have called the Airtel helpline, and hope to get any tangible solution to my problem. Not sure, it this ’Missing Remote’ or any other device is a normal thing with Airtel DTH, or was I a exception. Also, the dealer’s insistence on my not opening the seal of the box seams fishy now.
