Lets face it, if you are comparing the picture quality all DTH services available in market are the same. What makes a DTH service good is the other package that you get. First, the channels bundle that comes for a cost. Airtel fails badly here. The way the channels are grouped, you got to spend a fortune to watch your fav channels. The channels are grouped like Super value(all junk channels), next its New value which is super value + some new channels(again the combo is filled with half junk channels). Next to New value is Economy. Economy is New value + some new channels. The thing that I want to say is lets say I like channels in group D. I dont get to choose group D alone. I have to buy A+B+C+D. What crap! Here by the time you get to economy you have already shelled out 275! And we have not even got any sports channel! What crap! The channel grouping is a total waste. In this aspect I find Sun DTH better. Seriously!
Second: Technical support. Very poor! They are running on huge shortage of man power. You raise a complaint. You will get a message on your mobile saying a complaint is registered and all fancy crap. It says it will be resolved in the next 24 hrs. The next day you will get a message again saying the issue is resolved! What??!! how? nobody called me nobody visited my home! How did it get resolved? You go home and wola the problem still exists. It will take another 2 days before somebody gets to you or your problem is solved. I hear the same problem from my friends also.
Third: Their set up box is a piece of junk: Sometime when you switch on the TV u get a message saying the software is being updated please dont switch off the STB... It will take a few minutes. You are in for a big surprise. You wait for hours the message does not go the software upgrade is still running at 0%. Looks like they got windows software in their box. This happend to me twice. Again, day after day I have to raise complaints to get the issue resolved. As I speak I am on hold by a customer care executive. The software upgrade started on Friday night(Food ball world cut first match!) today is tuesday(Brazil’s match). I still dont get my TV!!!
