Excellent picture of unfriendly customer care

First of all. I was WOWED by the picture quality on my airtel DTH. HD channels were really really cool. reception was no issue. and for the first 6 months, it was as sweet as it can be. Then when I had to recharge my account, I thought of paying money through my card on the IVR on their hotline. I had actually liked the IVR that I had used when booking airtel DTH for the first time. let me tell you, IVR for booking the DTH is thousand times better than IVR for recharge because both the IVR’s are different! The IVR for recharging has noisy, unclear voice and often ends up with either your money getting stuck in Payment gateway(your money doesn’t reach airtel and your money is deducted from your card but you get back the money within 72 hours) or your recharge is unsuccessful.


Now every time your money gets stuck, you need to let the guys know about it which is a real pain in the most unpleasant places in your body that you can think of. You call again to their hotline no and even if your preferred language of communication is English, after waiting for 25-30 min, you get connected to Hindi, Tamil or Gujrati line! Hindi is WOKAY for a kannadiga like me;). But with all due respect for other languages, I would hate to speak to a customer care executive in a language I dont know. Worst part is, they dont have the facility to connect you to any guy who speaks English (or even Hindi). Recharging from outlets is now getting more difficult because 4 outlets who used to sell recharge coupons for airtel dth near my place have stopped dealing with this company because of poor service to even these people who invest money and time into airtel’s business:D.


Now coming to the contents, I wanted suvarna news 24X7 channel. and you would not believe it, it took me 8 days(3-4 hours on phone) to get to a customer care executive to activate that pack costing 5 re/month. The HD pack is way too expensive compared to any other DTH operators. Now sanity prevails as I have tata sky HD+. customer care is cool. and I speak to them when I want.
