I upgraded from Airtel normal STB to HD, and called up customer care for the same; The guy specifically mentioned that there is a 300 rs cashback offer, which combined sum looked more attractive than Reliance HD, so I opted in for the same.
On 19th of the last month, I got the cashback offer, and was showing in my statement, but frauds at Airtel reverted that money (for what reason I don’t know).So I mailed the presence team (who bothered to reply days later), that due to my connection is not in certain segment, they cannot give me cashback. (he didn’t explained which segment he was talking about and what are the rules, but yes, that looser was quite keen in disconnecting the call without even letting me speak, and definitely didn’t picked up when I called back).
Today I got this reply from presence (relevant extract):
As per your telephonic discussion with the undersigned dated 09th October 2012; please be informed that the Cash Back was introduced to a selected segment base and hence, the account in question is not eligible for the same.
Clearly, I was promised by their own customer care guy that I’ll get the cashback, and now they are making anonymous excuses to pick pocket your money. Its not question of mere 300 Rs, its a question of who is right, and what you’ve promised must be fulfilled. (If there were clauses for the cashback offer, I must not have been promised for the same).
I hope I make my point in stating how Airtel is cheating the customers with false promises and fraudulent transaction reverts.
I’ll recommend none of you to but Airtel DTH; I hope other brands are more ethical towards what they are selling and with their words. In the end, its Airtel who is gonna loose, if they continue things like this.
