Planning to buy Airtel DHT through online here is my experience
On 29th Oct 2011 I have gone through the Airtel website decided to buy one Airtel HD-DVR online, I have called up 12148 from my Airtel Mobile. This call got connected to an Executive Mr. Mr.Avinash (He had given his mobile Number as 08080607756) convinced me to make payment on line through my credit card, he was very nice until I have made the payment. He had promised me for an installation within 48Hrs only if I book through Credit card else I may take longer time, so I opted to make payment through Credit Card. He had promised me to send a Invoice and receipt to my email ID and Collected my mail ID. (This was some of the lies told to me by this ruthless guy)
Later I understand that I have made payment to a Dealer Named “SHELL Transource Private Limited” Model No. T-161, 7th Floor, Tower No.10, ITC Park, CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai -400614
They claim to be Vertex Group Company ( https://vertexgroup.com ) so do not believe Vertex Group Companies also.
I have started to wait 48 Hrs gone no trace of I am getting the connection. I called up again to 12148 one lady picked up the call I have told her the entire episode, she immediate said Avinash only will know the status of this installation she will ask him to call me and disconnected the call.
So I have tried the Mobile number given by him from my mobile, he had not lifted the call seeing my number. Later I have tried his mobile from some other number he had picked the call and conformed to me that he is Mr.Avinash and told me that he will coordinate for the installation within 1~2 Hrs. Later he had started to answer in Hindi and started to tell he is not Avinash and I had dialled a wrong number.
I have later contacted one Mr.Thejas at 13:53 on 31st Oct 2011 he also had told me that he will ask the installation team to do the needful. I have asked him why it is taking long time so immediately he had put me in to hold (with Music on) and promptly disconnected me.
I have received an SMS from “AD-TVRchrg” as “Your digialtv account ********* is successfully recharged with Rs.2390. If your service do not resume, pls SMS HR to 54325 from your registered mobile no. after switching your Set Top Box on.”
Later one Mr.Guptha had called me from +91 22 41304100 at 2:33 PM on 31st Oct 2011 and told that Installation will take place on 31st OCT 2011 itself. And also told me that it is company policy not to provide a bill for the transaction they can only provide the transaction ID not even a receipt.
I have paid Rs.4390/- I got an sms as they have received Rs.2390/- what happened to the balance amount?
I started to suspect their integrity at that point of time as they told me that they cannot give a bill for the item purchased by me and already paid for.
These people are not only cheating common man like me but also the government of India by not paying Sales Tax or Service Tax. (Is any government official reading this may look in to this to take legal action on them for this evasion of taxes? I can provide all information that I have recorded)
On 1st Nove Mr.Guptha had called up from +91 22 41304100 at 12:36 PM on 1st Nov 2011 told me that someone from NIVVETA Agency will contact us and do the installation before 5:00 PM today.
I am still waiting on 3rd Nov after 6th day of booking the DTH, for somebody to come and do the delivery and Installation of my DTH Connection.
Lesson : Do not Buy Airtel DTH thorough Telephone Booking the Jokers on the phone are true shame less people will only cheat you.
When you dial 12148 it will get connect to the dealer you will think that you are taking to Airtel executive truth is they are not. They are from “SHELL Transource Private Limited”
