These airtel guys are extracting money from customers by their bogus policies. I have noticed this on 2 occasions. Though it would be wise to share with all.
I got my STB upgraded to HD recently. After 3 months, the STB gave problems. I called Airtel guys and they told that I will have to pay for the visit charges [Rs 150] even though the new STB was under warranty. This is really disgusting. Ideally they should have replaced it free of cost whatever the problem is.
Now they have even started levying a charge of Rs 20 if you do not recharge before expiry date. I mean I dont know why are they bothered, if I do not recharge my DTH on time. Even in case of pre-paid mobiles, if you do not recharge, the services stop but nobody charges you for re-activation.
I am surprised who approves these policies and such customers- unfriendly policies are sure to be frustrating.
