I have Airtel Digital TV connection(id no. 3004744794) for the past 8 months and have been recharging online every time before time always for maintaining the connection. However, for the last two times even though I recharged well before expiry, I kept getting sms from Airtel suggesting that my connection would be disconnected.
Called up customer care (which is again difficult to get through!) and explained the issue. The first executive was adamant and wanted my debit card number even when I kept on insisting that it was a netbanking transaction and I gave him the transaction ID.
Call got disconnected and the next executive was better and I was told that the complaint has been raised and it was a glitch in the software that probably did not update the info. Problem was resolved but recurred again the next time. My expiry date was 22nd march and I recharged with Rs300 on 18th March but still I started getting sms from Airtel.
Initially, I ignored thinking that it might be the same software glitch problem however the sms continued and I called up the cutomer care number. It was hell getting through that number. had to wait for 15 minutes to talk to an executive. Again explained him the situation and was given the same response that it is a software glitch and that I should not worry. But alas on 24th march my connection was discontinued!!!!!!!!
I have decided to get away with airtel digital TV and would advise others not to venture into it as well. They spend lot of money on filmstars for promoting their product, it would have been better if they spent the money on better software and product !!!
