I have been a big fan of Airtel Mobile Services since I bought my first phone in 2003. In fact I am still on Airtel and like it very much.
However, my experience with Airtel Digital TV has been exactly opposite. I chose Airtel Digital TV because of my good experience with Airtel Telecommunication but I have been proved wrong.
The Airtel DTH customer service is extremely poor. They are no doubt responsive but the help desk people are extremely knowledgeable, misguiding and many a times lack the professionalism needed. I have been facing problem of "not able to record HD channels" for 1.5 months but with multiple SRs the problem remained unresolved. The last response given to me was that its because of Satellite issues and will be resolved in Jan 2012 end.
The next problem I faced (2 weeks back) was with respect to software download issue which kept on failing and will restart my hd recorder every 5 mins to retry software download. This also remained unresolved by Airtel Helpdesk people who promise to call back but they never do. For both of my problems which ran in totality for nearly 2 months, no one visited my home from Airtel DTH. Pathetic. Isnt it?
No, its not, there is more to it. Then I googled for my problem and found others facing similar issue and found the solution on web. Guess what I could resolve both of my problems in less than 5 mins. Its high time that Airtel Management looks into it and corrects it.
