Let me explain my very bad and frustrating experience with Airtel DTH. I know about the service of Airtel as I have used broadband and post paid mobile connection. It was really good. Hence I believed in Airtel and went for Digital TV. And also when comparing the packages with Tata SKY, Airtel is providing good number of channels.
After I paid Rs.1750 to the dealer it took 4 days for the installation of the dish that too with lot of fighting with the customer care. Whenever I call the call the customer care and report the problem about installation, they say that they will log a complaint regarding this and never took any action. They themselves are not clear about what to be done next. A customer care guy told me on the 3rd day that it will take 3 more days for the person to install the dish in my home as he is busy.Finally I got installed after 4 days.
The problem never ended there. After installation the service engineer was not able to activate the set top box due to some techincal issue. He informed me that it will take 1 more hour. And now it has crossed 1 day but still it is not activated. The customer care executives say different answers everytime. One said 1 hr, the other said 45 mins and 1 more said 24 hrs which really led to a question that are they really Airtel or some fake company is using this brand name.
I am really frustrated with Airtel DTH and I VERY STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT TO BUY this product.
