I had bought a Airtel DTH HD connection tht came for Rs1000/- in an offer with Sony LCD. Earlier I had Tata sky DTH, which I still continue to have for a second TV.
I must say that Airtel provides the worst service in DTH. If you try to call their customer care, you will never be able to reach a customer agent & even if u r lucky enough, the moment an agent will answer you, then ur call will drop. On the top of it, recently airtel has switched over to a new satellite for which the dish needs to be realigned, else you get the famous SM2 error with no reception at all.
This continued for full 5 days between the World Cup matches.. wat a timing !! Their technicians always turn up at around 11 am on a working day without taking a prior appointment & expect you to stay at ur home always !! Even after calling them & writing mails still some HD channels are not coming from day1 & I really have lost all my faith in them. One word: just dont go for it as it sucks !!
Latest update: recently they have stopped connecting to agents, which means you cant talk to a customer care agent, u can just sms & wait endless for them to call you back !!
My 2 years experience with Tata Sky was so well, prompt customer service & quality. Just today I have thrown that Airtel connection out of my house ( loss of Rs 1000) & bought a new Tata Sky HD+ connection. Tata Sky is indeed the best. Anyone still considering making a decision, just go for Tata Sky.
