The Mail below will explain what I mean . ..
I will rate Airtel support -100 on a scale of 1-10 , Pathetic. I am writing to you after banging my head against the wall named Airtel customer support .
The story of misfortune started when I decided to switch from Tata Sky to Airtel DTH – HD , I sent a SMS as given on the Airtel web site and was promptly contacted , I asked few questions and then selected a package and asked them to send the details of the same on the mail . Next day I was sent a mail containing the offer which clearly stated that I will be given one moth free ULTRA HD pack .
The next day call came and I confirmed that I will be needing the base package that will give me ULTRA HD pack . SO far so good . The mail sent quoted the price around INR 2600 but the guy who came to collected the cash collected 2300/- Which was paid .
In about 2 days the guys came over for installation and when I could not see the HD channel I asked the installation guy why the HD channels are not coming he then spoke to the installation and said I will get the HD channels in about half an hours , SO I signed the installation report . Now my night mares begin , I called up AIRTEL support and I was told that HD will be activated in 24 hrs .
I waited for 24 hours and nothing happened , I called up again and I was told that actually Airtel 24 hours mean 2 working days , I was enlightened as I either knew 24 hrs as one day or 3 days considering 8 business hours a day .
Then I was told that I will not get Free HD channels as I have paid less amount , I tried to clarify that I have paid whatever I was asked but to no avail , but I persisted and I was so frustrated that I said refund my money I don’t want the connection. I was promptly told Airtel do not have a refund policy , SO like it or not I am stuck with the Policy , I was promised that they will resolve the issue and give me a call by 12 pm next day .
Next day I did not receive any call , and when I called up I was told that I will not get my free package as promised , I considered it as a serious breach of trust by AIrtel.
Another 24 hours went by and reconciled to the fact that I will not get my Free HD Ultra pack as promised , so I said ok guys I am willing to pay more add the HD channels , I was told I can’t get the ultra pack but can get base HD pack , then I was told that even that Is not possible and I will have to watch Economy sports for next 28 days then only I will be able to add any pack .
And to top it all Airtel issued One page advertisement in the Times of India Today claiming to change the life , yes it did change my life , I am now spending my time posting my experience all across the web , Twitter , Facebook and Blogs and voila I have come across many who have gone through the same experience .
Maybe my mail to you will get past that wall .
