Never fall prey to Airtel DTH. Their broadband service is great, sophisticated and support has been very good . I thought to try their Airtel DTH service and fell into the trap of one of their schemes i.e RS. 1500 Airtel Xtream box upfront price and then monthly Fee.
After a while of paying the monthly fee I did not want to use the cable services and just went for OTT. Airtel promises you their xtream box will make your tv a Smart Android TV but what they deliberately hide is that even for using Prepaid OTT services such as Zee 5, Hotstar etc. that you may have or even for Youtube, their BOX will NOT work unless you pay them the monthly fee they are charging on top of the 1500(or more) bucks you paid upfront for the Xtream box. So that box becomes a box of garbage.
And when you ask for a refund with return of the box they mistreat you - their Nodal office is full of arrogant people who don’t even answer mails for weeks.
Finally, here is the scary part, they have a team of cutthroat telesales outsourced service reps who keep calling you at odd hours asking to reactivate the service and even make threats.
This did not stop even when I emailed them twice to cancel my services totally and end my relationship with their company.
Based on the same I am in the process of filing a criminal complaint against their nodal head as I believe they may be involved in illegally sharing my data with their sales team who harass people.
