Airtel DTH doesn't allow to upgrade or ala-carte

Dear Sir/Ma’m,


With a lot of frustration and disgust I am writing this review because nobody in Airtel DTH is acknowledging their mistake and providing a solution to me. They don’t really care about customer satisfaction.


I am a new customer of Airtel DTH(Customer ID: 3028222765). I switched from Videocon D2H to Airtel DTH on 05-Feb-2019. I called Airtel Sales executive of my residential area Mr. Nitin Kumar(8826503271 / 9599790634). I told him that I need the top pack with all HD channels and if I have to select ala-carte(as per TRAI), let me know and I’ll do that. He said that initially for activation a base pack "UP BH JHK Value Lite HD DSL" worth Rs. 253+ will be used. Soon after installation I can go to channel#998 and select my upgrade pack or ala-carte channels. Later, while installation the engineer Mr. Mukesh Kumar(9910695507) also confirmed it.


I paid Rs.2300 to Nitin Kumar for HD STB, activation and base pack. But since then I am trying to upgrade or select ala-carte channels and Airtel is not allowing me to do either. I have now come to know that I cannot upgrade or do anything with my pack for next 30 days. For the last 4 days I am running from pillar to post in Airtel(customer care, sales man, technical engineer, Twitter, etc) but nobody is either opening a complaint ticket or solving my problem. Moreover the Sales person Nitin Kumar is not accepting my calls anymore. He made a sale with a false promise causing trouble for a customer and now he is not concerned. Is this the kind of training Airtel provides to its staff? What action will Airtel take on Nitin Kumar for all the trouble he caused to a customer?


What is my fault here? I had clearly stated what I wanted, paid what Airtel wanted, recharged another Rs. 400 into my account. But now I cannot do anything with my account, I don’t have most HD channels, cannot watch my favourite channels. Me and my family is upset with the decision of switching from Videocon D2H to Airtel DTH. Customer service is worse here.


Thanks(but for what? for giving me this trouble?).
