Customer service at Airtel is pathetic....firstly Bharti needs to get people who can speak at least Hindi if not English, most customer service representatives sound like as if they are doing a favour to the customer by attending the call. I have repeatedly had problems with their service and everytime I call I am given conflicting answers by different representatives, ultimately I end up speaking to a manager (after repeatedly asking the representatives to put me to a manager) who has another conflicting view on the situation, I do understand there are many ways to fix a problem, but people in customer service need to know which solution would be the best and have to take decisions on their feet and not promise to call back with a solution in 24 hrs and never return a call. The network is jammed between 6-9 pm on a regular basis. They recycle numbers unused by pre-paid users for a month or two on a regular basis and give the same number to post-paid user, the previous pre-paid users acquaintances continue calling on this number, yeah I do understand incoming calls are free and I dont need to pay for those unsolicited calls, but the problem is when I am out of town using the roaming facility. I end up paying for an incoming call from a person I dont have anything to do with. When I called in customer care to find a solution, I was asked to shell out 500 bucks to get a new number....upon confirming it is a genuine case they would adjust the 500 bucks against my future bill !!!....they recycle numbers for their convenience and to fix a problem arising to a customer thereafter they charge !!!....hats off to their cust service. If BSNL where to start aggresive marketing Airtel will be gone for good....I am waiting for the current billing cycle to get over and move onto BSNL....Once again Airtel SUCKS to the core !!!
