Airtel in Kolkata...
I am a subscriber of Airtel since jan’04 .... about its networks I have always been quite satisfied n actually never felt any kind of problem connecting to my folks.
I had been a pre-paid subscriber till very recently I switched to post-paid connection.
Being a pre-paid connection is very easy a hasslefree thats what I feel ... again there are no special incentives or good schemes for post-paid. Again being a post-paid customer I feel it really tired to pay the bill in queue and within a stipulated dates that is what pisses me off ... so I think I will better switch back to the prepaid unless there exist better attractive schemes for post-paid schemes.
Again being a subscriber for the Hello Tunes I beleive there is necessarily a change required in the procedure for selecting the tunes, One needs to dial 672 which is charged at Rs.3/min to select a tune which for my case has always required about 15 mins ... thats a awful lot to be wasted to select a tune .... and which is not just..as it is followed with a download charge of Rs.15 additionally followed by a monthly subscription of Rs.30.
I strongly feel that the selection procedure must be very simple ... like selecting from a database on Internet , or just sending a specific code for a particular tune via an sms or something of that sort which would reduce the selection charges and I feel would make the hello tunes more popular.
Again I have checked that the tune does not last for the entire duration till when the receiver does not answer the call ....after about 2 rings the Tune stops singing that is also what must be corrected.
And finally , some more attractive money-saving schemes are a must , otherwise why should a subscriber prefer post-paid to prepaid which is very easy to continue with.
Network wise , I feel Airtel Kolkata is pretty good.
