Airtel Schemes

I’ve been using Airtel(Mumbai) prepaid for 6 months now and here is how I find it.

It is very difficult to get to know about the various airtel schemes.  I have no idea why they do not put it on their website.  But if you get the right scheme for you, you can save hundreds(or thousands) every year.  Airtel has very good network coverage.  Customer Care can be improved a lot, but it’s ok, not too bad.  Since I have prepaid I do not have any problems with the Billing.

Airtel has a Rs.25/- per week STD scheme, STD calls are charged at Rs.1/- per minute.(SMS STD1 to 250).

For Rs.25/- per month local call scheme - airtel to mobile calls Rs.1/- per minute and airtel to landline Rs.2/- per minute.

You can activate any one of the above schemes not both at a time.

For Rs.25/- per month SMS scheme, national and local SMS for Rs.0.30/- per SMS.

Local call scheme and SMS scheme can be clubbed for Rs.45/- per month.

For **Rs.49/- per month airtel-airtel Rs.0.15/- per minute

(These above schemes are not available for Airtel Lifetime prepaid.)

For Customer Care dial 121.  Follow the instruction and take the operator assistence option.

Problems with Customer Care are that their staff is not well trained.  When I requested local call scheme, STD scheme was activated instead and I lost Rs.25/-. Again I called Customer care and was told the scheme would be activated within 6 hrs, after 24 hrs still no sign of activation, so I called CC again and was told my request was not forwarded.  Besides all this Customer Care does not give you complete details so beware before taking any scheme. (That’s why I’m putting up here what I know is true.)

Airtel does have come hiccups, but overall I’m satisfied with Airtel.

If you know of any other schemes email me at lovetovictor@yahoo.com Thank You.
