Very poor customer service at Bangalore

I had an issue with Nov 05 billing (duplicate SMS charges). I went to the nearest Airtel office (M/s. Mobile & Sims, Gandhi Nagar, Bangalore) to complain. Since I had already paid that month’s bill, the representative told me that the excess amount will be adjusted in the next bill. That never happened, inspite of me going to that office personally about 6 times, specifically for this purpose. All my initial complaints were just verbal. Each time I met the representative, they sound as though they are very helpful and in full control of the situation. My Dec 05 bill arrived and still there was no news about the excess charges in the last bill. Even the last date for the payment of Dec bill neared. I went to the office again a day before the Dec due date. The representative at the Gandhi Nagar office assured me that she will make the necessary deductions in the current bill, and will even waive off the late payment charges. However, that night, I paid more than 80% of the pending bill amount. The remaining amount was approximately equal to the amount in dispute. There was never any late payment charges for the remaining amount though. Also the correction in the bill amount too didnt happen. About a week later, I started receiving messages and calls from Airtel that my outgoing calls will be barred due to non-payment of bills. I went to the office again. The rep convinced me that the services will not be blocked and I need not pay the remaining amount till the adjustment took place. The next day morning at about 10, I had my outgoing calls barred. I had to call the rep via my home landline and get that activated again. The rep again promised me that my issue will soon be resolved.A week later, yesterday, my mobile account has been deactivated by Airtel. This time, I gave a written complaint (got an acknowledgement of it) on their poor service at their office. The same rep told me (again) that my connection will be activated in another 1 hr. About 8 hours later, still with a deactivated connection, I lodged complaints with Airtel Post Paid customer care number, 121@airtelindia.com, and on the web (airtelworld.com) hoping that some one at airtel will look into the issue. After about 24 hours of giving a written complaing and about 14 hours of registering multiple complaints, I still dont know what I should do to get my connection back. I called up the airtel office again. The in-charge of the facility, told me the same old story I had been hearing everytime -- they will look into the issue and will activate my connection in 1 hr.Their customer support is like a bunch of interactive voice response boxes. They even acknowledge that they are giving me the same response (looking into the issue and 1hr assurance).
