Finally....
after waiting for a loong loong time Airtel finally arrived here in Bhubaneswar(Orissa). As you guys know brand name always sells and here it happened the same. Brand name sold like hell. They reached a customer base of 100000 in jus 30 days. Good Going AirTel.....but there were a few cons too !!
COST ?
Initially when they launched their services in December..they had just offers pouring in ! They had enuf of them to get customers towards them . They started with SIM(Prepaid) costing just Rs.149 & all recharge vouchers haveing 100% talktime...which is still of offer stands...and id on the verge of soon getting off.
I brought my Airtel Connection on 28th Dec. People still opted for Airtel as they didnt have many options though. We only have few cellular operators here.
1.BSNL
2.Reliance India Mobile (CDMA Div)
3.Reliance Telecom ( RTL-GSM Division)
Why Airtel ??
Definately personal usage reasons comes first.They have an attarctive tarrif with allover more that attractive services and Value Added Services alongwith. BSNL I didnt prefer as to get a BSNL prepaid SIM one needs to wait for 2 long months which was practically impossible by my part. Before opting for Airtel I was using RTL by which I was far too before crucified.
Reason of cricification
1.To make ISD Calls one need to have a min balance of Rs.300
2.To make STD Calls one needs to have a min bal of Rs.40. (i think they are nuts)
3.No Value Added Services.
4.Coverage is not upto mark.(Only 20 cities in Orissa)
Airtel scored all above. Make STD , ISD till last rupee. Lots and lots of Value Added Services. Seamless connectivity. Brand Name also. :-) , I was impressed by On screen balance display & onscreen recharging.
Airtel connected 100+ towns....which is simply great. 1 could be mobile with Airtel jus in any corner in Orissa. Free Voicemail, Call Forwarding, Call Waiting, Hello Tunes are simply awesome.
And of course Customer Care. They are simply awesome. I dont know about Customer Care of different states I am lucky enuf to have great customer care representatives for my state. They simply put Service before self . Yup I mean it , they rteally do.
Why Not Airtel ?
After all these AirTel still lacks somewhere. My dad stays outside(Qatar) I am not able to receive calls from his end. Outgoing National SMS is too costly. For other operators its 0.75p and for Airtel its damn Rs.2.
Anyways I have given a complaint about that and they have assured me of taking immidiate action regarding that. When I went to thei HQ..i was just treated like a king. Juices were offered, people were so good. ti rocked.
Rest depends upon u ?
Guys I dont know about performance of Airtel in different states but yes they are damn damn good in Orissa. They are really here to prove something. It shows...reaching a customer base of 1, 00, 000+ in 25-30 days is simply awesome.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AIRTEL & BE NOTED PEOPLE HERE IN ORISSA ARE WAY TOO SENSITIVE YOU GET OUT OF TRACK IN PROVIDING SERVICE THEY JUST DONT CARE ABOUT THROWING AWAY YOUR SIM> SO TAKE CARE & MY BEST WISHES FOR YOUR SEAMLESS PERFORMANCE. KEEP IT UP.
