UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICES BY AIR TEL

I am one of the Airtel Customer from yer 1997, the service wise they are quite good most of the places they have satisfactory network. Although in recent times I have faced problems in roaming but still I am using their services. I too had another Airtel connection for my Child, who migrated to USA last year and sim was lost or misplaced or never used the connection was under advance rental.


Despite the fact that connection was unused from last year October they renewed it for next 6 months and the rental along with some late fee was paid by me I requested them that connection may be disconnected as the Sim was not available I cud not verify the same.


In the month of  April I again requested them for closure of Connection but instead of doing so again they raised the bill and than started putting late fee on the same. Finally I spoke to their operator or supervisor and the lady promised me they will reverse 300 out of 448 and I have to just pay Rs.148 and they will send me a prepaid sim. But in reality instead of taking any action they send another bill with late fee and amount was increased to some 548 or so.


I spoke to their people but they were quite adamant so matter was closed. I know they cant recover any money from me but they are spoiling the relation with a customer of 16+ years relation. Is that is the new culture. More over how can they renue any service without customers confirmation. There are many legal points. If any Airtel person read this they should check it.
