I opted for Airtel because I thoughtHmm, Anything is better than Docomo. That was not a good experience for me. So, I got the Airtel Pospaid Plan of 399, with a good combination of data, sms, calls(Local & STD). I was satisfied.
Things I liked about Airtel:
No billing disputes whatsoever. This was a hindrance I had earlier with Idea Postpaid, where some unscrupulous fellow switched my bill to someone elses and had the guts to fault me for that. With Airtel, rest assured that what you get is what you used.
Forthcoming staff: Any issue connected to your network easily resolved by the CC employees or the ones at the Airtel store. One of the few companies where the CC people actually know what theyre being asked. I didnt even have to go anywhere, a person came to my house to collect all my documents, and I got the new SIM card then and there, with just a phone call.
Things I dont like about Airtel:
Network Problem: I didnt start experiencing Network problems until only recently, when I moved into my hostel. Its not like its a secluded area, its located in Mumbai suburbs. Other companies like Vodafone, Idea have excellent coverage. But not Airtel. Its a big pain in the butt, which is why Im switching.
Slow Internet Speed: If youre opting for Airtel, you have to live with this. Pathetic net speed even in well reachable areas. The data from the 399 pack is just wasted, because youll never use it. Not at all viable for urgent situations like flight bookings etc.
SO overall its been a topsy-turvy ride with Airtel. As mentioned, dont worry about getting duped into some insane scheme that empties your pocket. What you get is what you see. But now its time to move on.
If anyone can recommend another reliable network, thatll be great. Peace.
