Updates - June 11 2009 - Finally I got justice and got my 300rs back. I belive the mouthshut review has helped me. One guy from mouth shut asked for the customer care asked for my phone no. and I gave him one of the complaint number and then finally issue resloved by June 03 2009.


Thanks mouth shut and the person who too complaint no. and helped me.


Updates - May 11 2009 - Still the issue is not relsoved. for 300rs I had spent more than 20 hours to reslove the issue.


A brief about my association with Airtel -


I had been a customer of Airtel from past 7 years. I have been using all the services on the Airtel and currently I use two airtel numbers.


The service for call and sms was good in the beginning i.e. in 2002 to 2005. but later on it started giving issues like call drops, no network, low voice quality. But customer support was good .


By the beginning of 2008 I started facing huge call drops and bad quality voice calls. Internet service on airtel is useless from the time I had used it( i.e. from 2005).


Mean time I had chance to use BSNL and it fair far better in terms of connectivity( in 2009) and call rates are good compared to Airtel.


The cost we pay for Airtel is very high even today. But the customer support has become pathetic now.


the call drops are common now a days, call quality is very bad. Customer support ppl dont knw what they are doing or they are really not fit for that job.


I am just awaiting for the number portablity to come in and immdeatly I will move to other operator. The call charges will be very low compared to airtel, I can save 50% of the cost.


Everytime u call them they give u new consumer complaint no. and they close the call without informing you and not resloving the issue.


The recent issue I faced was bill payment - They have new option to pay bill on there website where in you don’t have to login to pay the bill for customer support.


I was more than happy to use that option and paid the bills. The amount was deducted from my Savings account and said credited to the Airtel on the webpage.


The major problem started here.


After 2 months the amount is not yet reflected in the my mobile no. account.


Funny part today they removed my number from Airtel Network. cheers.


Greatest Gift from Airtel for being a customer for past 7 years and paying all the bills in time.


Well with regard to above issue I have rasied series of complaints -




  1. I raised a complaint on 8th of march, which was later closed some how without any reason




  2. new complaint I rasied on 13th march. Where did thsi complaint went I dnt knw






Every time I called them up I have to explain my story to them. Funny part the CC represtitive does’nt know what is credit card and what is debit card . I have explain them what is debt card.




  1. On 18 march I raised another complaint




  2. I again called up on 23, 24, and 28th of march to enqurie issues. No update provided






mean time I got message saying that they have handed over my details to recovey agent to recover mobile bill of 600 when I have already paid the bill.


I knw in india companines know only rowdyism and nothign else. Nothing new




  1. Again called up on 4 April, 8 and 10 april. No updates . on 10th april they told system under updation so call me back after 13th.




This is common issue, airtel systems are always under upgradation.


on 16 th april my phone was out of network.


When I called up they said I have due? funny all my complaints were bull shxx for airtel.


Well I asked executive to open old complaint and activate my connection. and I promised him that I will move out of airtel as soon as number portabilty comes in.


My connection is activated now and a new complaint is raised. I really don’t know what happend to the my prevous complaints. Well its good that they have enabled my phone.


Hope for the best


Hope now they will look at reslove the issue of this humble and loyal( for past 7 years) customer and I can use airtel for another 8 to 10 months.


The trend I am seeing now a days is all pvt telecom company is becoming pathetic and BSNL is bck in league eventhough pvt players try to stop BSNL by some crook method.


Update on May 04 - 2009 -


Even after registering the complaints 10 times and sending an email to there nodal office, the airtel has not fixed this issue.


When ever I call up they ask for full details again. Funny part is to save 300rs I have spent an effort which will be more 25k worth.


Latest update yesterday I spoke to some lady( cc) and she said she will look into it again.


mean time they have disconnected my no. and have to pay my bills for other month except for februry month.


God help me .
