Airtel has grown big but services remain absolutely below par. Connectivity issues are major. Call dropping, call clarity, network coverage in remote areas continues to dog the service provider. It is painful to have a airtel connection especially in Mumbai but unfortunately due to corporate tieup we have to live up with them. Even when the phone is in network area you keep getting missed call alert. It is difficult to complete a conversation without getting a call dropped for at last two to three times.
Also I have experience my number getting shared with advertising companies and I keep getting unwanted calls. Service related complaints are also handled poorly. Airtel Plus features are also not upto the mark. GPRS is comfortable but doesn’t work in Chennai which can be problem for people who are using GPRS while roaming. SMS get delivered sometime as late as 24 after they are sent which is totally non acceptable
Hope they improve the setup soon
