When I brought my cell phone ( mobile phone ) , I opted for Airtel Sim card ( mobile phone service provider ) hoping for best service as depicted in their TV commercials.I had submitted all the necessary documents required as per law for identitiy verification .They accepted same and activated my card. After a week they called me , when I was out of station ( pre paid roaming ) that my papers were not proper . I called my wife and asked her to submit document proof again. She did the same.
They phoned me frequently ( remember I am in roaming ) telling that proof is inadequate. I said that , I will come back in a day or two and submit documents once again , requesting not to pester me during roaming. Even after request , they threatened me several times , saying that my connection will be disconnected.My charged amount was becoming zero , I got fed up and asked them to disconnect. They disconnected my phone.
Hence moral of story , DO NOT GO BY CATCHY COMMERCIALS, REALTY IS SOMETHING ELSE.
One of my friend had post paid connection of Airtel , he asked for roaming facility as he had to work out station for several days .Instead he was made to roam from one branch office to another for getting roaming facility and asked for deposit.You have to take token for talking to service executives of Airtel, who themselves do not know their company rules.When govt undertaking like MTNL, BSNL are shedding bureaucratic ways and are providing good service, Airtel is picking up these , Hail competetion.
