Im an Airtel Prepaid subscriber. I have 2g internet service on my number which gets auto renewed every month. Few days back I got a sms that in 3 days the 2g internet pack will get auto renewed. I decided to switch from 2g to 3g. So I dialed the 121 to subscribe to 3G. While doing that Airtel clearly tells you that with activation of 3G your 2g plan will get discontinued. But what they wont tell you that although your 2g plan is discontinued but they will still continue to auto renew the 2g plan and that you should manually discontinue it. Customer care will tell you that sir since 3G is not available everywhere its good to have 2g plan also. What they wont tell you that even if you are on 2g band with 3g activated its not the 2g plan which is debited but 3g. And when u r out of the 3g credit still 2g plan is not used unless youll unsubscribe 3g plan and will be billed for it.
And this is because they have deactivated 2g. But they will still charge for a discontinued service. So they billed me 98 rs. in auto renewal. I complained on email. Airtel just called and said ok sir well refund your money this time but next time call customer care service before changing plans. Oooo! Ok.

Also, I got another Gyan from customer care. When your 2g plan is auto renewed make sure you immediately restart your mobile otherwise you might be billed for using internet and youll discover a major amount of money disappeared from your balance. Happened to me twice.
