Me from TamilNadu using AirTel.


Previously I was an AirTel prepaid customer and later changed myself to postpaid due to a availablity of an affordable scheme.


At the time of prepaid to postpaid conversion I was troubled a lot- They simply disconnected my prepaid account and the postpaid account was activated only after 38 hours!!


My business was heavily affected on that 36 hrs- as I was left with a blank mobile!


I just list out some of the problem I faced:




  • Customer care- They are not aware of what AirTel offers. Each one gives different info, finally u are confused and u go mad ! Some time u can see some wrong info’s posted in https://airtelworld.com & when enquired to customer care, they simply ignore it.




  • Their e-mail to mobile messaging is NOT reliable. It never reaches the receipiant. In my experiance the probability is 1/50




  • For every SMS you sent u receive 2 delivery report. Immediatly after u send the SMS, u can see the ’Pending’ message & within 2-10 sec another message comes depending on weather its delivered or not and again some bluffing response given by Cust care for this problem.




  • Be ware - Never download any ringtone, picture messages from Yahoo, bcos it wont get delivered ( I hav experianced) but u will be charged for that !! And, when I contacted the customer care they agree that there is some problem. But any how they will cost you (!!)




  • You will face some signal drop ie., You will be having full signal & u are near to a tower, and in the middle of a conversation the call will be disconnected & u ar surprised to see the signal strength reached zero level & after some time it rises up.I have faced this more than 2 times also with different handsets.




  • National & Internatinal SMS are costly compared with BPL and Aircel.




  • Low coverage compared with other 2 players.




  • Fraud Billing: They may charge u for what they have told u as free. Once, some 50 SMS were said as free for me, but I was shocked to see the itemized bill where they have charged for the same. And, finally with long argument with cust care they cleared the charges.
