Title : Airtel-Delhi-Customer Service.
Review : I have been an airtel post-paid subscriber since 2001. I have never had a problem with their connectivity but the customer service has been everything from bad, lousy, pathetic to good (on a rare occasion)and so on. More often than not, the customer service reps I have spoken to are either difficult to understand or in too big a rush to get done with the call. They must do something to improve their customer service. They are either not reachable or hang-up on you.
To add to this, they have changed their number from 9810012345 (that I have been dialing ever since) to 121-without any intimation. I had to keep trying the old number until I happened to receive a call from a rep for a change of plan. The old number has a very user-unfriendly menu and does not tell you what to dial to reach a rep.
In addition to all of this there is a regular annoyance from Airtels automated message center. It has become like a spam on an e-mail account. I receive SMS message(s) everyday with contests, ringtones and what not. Agreed, they want to keep the subscribers posted but should not overdo it or maybe check with the subscribers if they want to receive the free nuisance. There is no way they can de-activate this annoyance either. The reps say it is an automated service and they will try to do something about it.
On the whole the service, as far as the connectivity goes is excellent, but they must do something about the SPAM they send via sms.
Message for prospective post-paid subscribers- Connectivity-Excellent/Good Customer Service-Is just OK. You are required to be patient and wait on long holds for before you reach a rep. SMS Alerts-Be prepared for SPAM.
Pros : Good connectivity
Cons: SMS alerts are a pain
