I am a long time customer of Airtel enjoying the benifits of highest tarriff whatso ever and all the rich(expensive) but not so worth it features of Airtel.
If any one has the idea of turning into a Airtel Postpaid!!! customer, its like blindfold stepping into The Hell.
Blind fold, since you wont see it before you can step into it, Hell, you know why after you have stepped into it.
If you get into a dealers showroom for getting ur faivourite Airtel Prepaid service you will be welcomed by extremely good looking girls & charming young men who will definitely indulge you into becoming a postpaid customer. The features that the postpaid delivers is more than than a prepaid card & theoretically spacking it is very cheep too...
But what lies behind this seemingly attractively package is TROUBLE, WORRY, WASTAGE OF MONEY , WASTAGE OF TIME & CHEAP!!! SERVICE.
Airtel prepaid is a very light weight package, but postpaid package is not so. You have to pay Rs750 initially. It is assumed that a executive will have to come to check the address of ur residence, unfortunately due to Airtel’s vast customers it is inevitable that the service executives will skip deadlines, some times it might take weeks together for them to attend this.
But the Airtel is impatient about this, they dont care whether their executives have time to make it OR NOT, but if the insepction is not complete within 3 days ur connection will be disconnected for no reason ( during which period also u need to pay ur rent ).
In such cases u will be left with only 2 options
To wait for the executives.
Go to their main office.
The responce in the main office is very poor. If u are permenantly employed u need to take one day OFF to attend to this. Even so there is no guarentee that the problem might be resolved.
Alas address verification over oooof, u cant rest yet , not yett!!!. Until ur Airtel’s Postpaid customer , Airtel wont let u rest or take care of ur work.
U get all sorts of problems like Bills not coming in properly ( Once again Airtel is strict about bill payment, it will DISCONNECT even when u have not received ur bill yett).
Airtel has a splendid accounting software and hardware, they ensure that in ur life cycle of being a Post paid Airtel customer , u will be definitely be screwed up for HIGH bill ( atleast 1K or 2 K above ur bill amount if ur usage is normal) atleast once!!!
Above all Airtel is the service I’m still availing but PREPAID ( I’m also a victim , nearly lost 1500 K & being penalised - nearly 15 days of disconnection & finally decided to go back to Prepaid - this loss & decision was made in 20 days of availing the service) , that is for the coverage, the signal is excellant. The quality is excellant too. According to sensus they are the best providers of CDMA services , wrt quality.
My advice is this, get Airtel Prepaid where ever u want , but get airtel PostPaid only at Airtel’s head office ( lots of stories from a lot of customers ) , because that is only way u can predict ur future - u’ll likely spend most of ur future there untill u descide to change ur own fait.
