Unethical practices of Airtel

We are customers of Airtel for many years. This is not by choice. We are struck. May be till number portability is in operation. Airtel is very unethical in gaining revenues. They have various ways of doing this. One very common way is deducting small chunks of money at regular intervals without any authorization from the subscriber. When we contact the customer service, they, without any hesitation, blame the subscriber, saying that the subscriber himself/herself authorized those deductions. When we insist that we dont want those services, they will stop deducting. STOP TEMPORARILY ONLY.

After few days, deductions will start. Escalating the problem to their managers will have no effect. Infact they act like our superiors. Talking to Nodal Officer will sometimes give some respite. But do not expect that would solve the problem fully. We may have to call up them at regular intervals. Reaching them is not so easy. We may be on hold for a long time. AND THE CALL IS CHARGED.

You may subscribe to any of their services like Missed Call Alert (MCA). They deduct money, but you will not get much benefit. When you question, they say this is because you subscribed to their voice mail. You protest. But things will continue like that. Another instance where I noticed their unethical practices is they lure you offering more talk time with less recharge. You will be told that part of this talk time will  be added to your account after 24/48/72 hours; But that will never happen. Saying they are unethical is small statement. They do not mind robbing the subscribers who are senior citizens.

In fact they are easier targets. Let us expect that with number portability, these unethical practices or these companies would disappear.
