Today I visited Airtel website airtel.in/ to recharge my prepaid connection for full talk time. I clicked on Online recharge -> Prepaid mobile and reached pay.airtel.com/PrepaidOnlineRecharge/mobileRecharge.jsp.
On this page, I selected Full Talk Time Recharge and got the options( See attached file also): recharge amount (Rs.) talktime (Rs.) processing fee (Rs.) service tax (Rs.) validity (days) Rs. 200200.0000.000Rs. 333333.0000.000Rs. 444444.0000.000Rs. 500500.0000.000Rs. 10001000.0000.000
Yet, after doing a recharge of Rs 200, I get a talktime of only Rs 175. When I called customer service they said its old information and Full Talk Time no longer exists for Rs 200. It is Airtels duty to correctly update their website with the correct information. They have mislead customers with their inaction. Customer service promised that they would get back to me on this on provide Full Talk Time. Hopefully, they will redress this and update the web site too.
What I feel sad about is that Airtel had excellent service and customer service. But now as its growing larger and has become a multinational, their quality is deteriorating over the years. I hope Airtel management will pull up their socks and once again continue the great service they initially used to provide.
Update: Very happy to inform that Airtel refunded back Rs 25 worth talktime. Thanks to Airtel for listening to my concern. However, Airtel has still not updated the website with the correct Tariffs. That means Airtel will end up refunding many more customers..... sigh!
