Poor Customer service and 3G in airtel

I have been using airtel 3G cum 2G combo pack for past 3 months. It costs 151 and for past 3 months I have been using it in my Xperia Neo V mobile without much problem other than occasional disconnection for few minutes. For this month also I recharged as usual. But this time I used it by tethering to my computer. It worked fine for 2 or 3 days. But after that the 3G download speeds which were usually around 120 - 130kb/s drastically reduced to 7-9 kb/s. So, I called them on 198 to register a complaint.


First, they said I should have enough balance. I immediatley recharged but in vain. After that I have called them so many times regarding theis complaint but everytime they try to find some fault on customer’s part - your cell phone settings may be wrongs....... your cache may need clearing ... your memory may be full ... you must have selected 2G settings wrongly... and I got umpteen number of corrections I should make. But though I followed their advice to the dot, I still have low speeds. Every call is also charged and they put you on hold for long time. I have spent more than 30 rupees just by ttalking to customer care and called more than 15 times. One time one service person said taht something is wrong in uploading usage details and there is discrepancy between their usage details and my actual details. He asked me to call some other number and ask them to update usage details but they said that cannot do that.


I am  so frustrated that I am thinking of changing to Vodafone or some other service.
