Never go for Airtel Broadband

I too support most of the reviews here.. I too don’t like the Airtel connection or service at all.

For those who are planning to take an Airtel broadband or fixed line ... here are the problems I faced from the day I applied for an Airtel connection. Please never go for Airtel.

I applied for the Airtel broadband connection nearly 4 times. Every time the technician comes and fills the form and takes 500/- Rs as deposit, and this they are doing without checking the port availability. And once you fill the form and pay the deposit... it will take around 3 to 4 days to tell you that the ports are not available. And after that it will take another 15 to 20 days to get back your deposit amount which you paid while filling the form. This happened 3 times for me and one in every six months. And on the 4th time unluckily I got the connection (of course by going with the above processes and all).

Then when I got the connection, few guys came for giving me the connection and that is without a Landline telephone device. When I asked they said they are not providing the device now and I have to purchase it if I want. And the Airtel cables dont support any other modems you already have. Thats what they will tell you and without the modem the connection wont work and thus they will make you take a modem from them (I paid 800/- for the modem, because they are not giving it free either).

So over all, you have to pay 500 + 800 = 1300 to get the connection and that too without Installation charges. If installation charges are included it will be 1300 + 500 = 1800 in total. which is all not refunded at any time. you just have to leave your hope on that money.

After getting the connection (i was having it from around 1 year) almost every month and once in 15 days the connection will go off. To get the connection back you have to call the customer care (for which you have to be in phone, waiting, for around 5 mins to speak with a customer care executive. For which they is no guarantee that in your first try itself you will be connected to executive). some times I tried nearly 10 times a day and got frustrated. (note: calling customer care is at your own cost. its not toll free). If by chance you get connected to executive and explain the reason. They will tell you to turn off and turn on the modem ..blah blah blah.... which wont work at all. Then they will raise a complaint and will provide you that complaint number. Once complaint is raised it will take around 3 to 4 days to get back your connection. Some time I dint get connection for even a week and more. Waste of money. They say the bill is prorated, but for the days which you are not getting the connection also you will be billed. You cant do anything untill you get the connection back or either you cant do anything with the excess bill. Its just waste of time calling to the airtel people and explaining .. no one will listen to you properly and finally you have to pay the bill.

I have taken a 512 kbps plan and 3 months back they changed it to 2mbps plan and sent me the bill for it which is around 250/- more. I never raised a request or they never sent me a mail or sms or gave me a call for converting the plan. THen again I have to waste my time and money with customer care. When I asked why you changed the plan without my confirmation, they said I only made a request for conversion to 2mbps. Foolish answers. I asked them to revert back to my previous plan which they dint do or dint even raised a request for that and bill be again for 2mbps plan.

with this excess billing I got frustrated and asked them to cancel the connection (which is again using customer care.... the literally deadline... agian waste of money). After raising the complaint, I left the city and returned after a month and still the connection is not cancelled. which they said will be cancelled in 7 days. I was billed for that month too. THen again I have to call the customer care and again raise the complaint. Then after nearly 10 days the connection was cancelled. For these 10 days  also it was billed.

I really got frustrated and dint pay my bills for the months it was excess charged. It was nearly 2000/- extra charged.

Here is where another problem comes... Some Airtel girls started calling me every day asking for payment. They are all literally def girls who dont listen to what you are saying and keep on repeating the same things again and again. And also they will send FAKE sms saying "you have not paid bill so attend court tomorrow". How foolish they are. THey dont even know that to attend court ones needs to get a notice from court in hard copy to your postal adress asking you to pay and if you dont pay within the provided period then only you have to attend. These stupids dont know that. And sometimes they say that they are the lawyers from court sitting in airtel office for speaking with you. Again stupid. And these girls who are saying they are the lawyers, the too dont know how a court proceeding works. They are more foolish. they will ask you to come and attend the court now, and the case is going on now in the court. All the things which they are saying are LIES.. VERY BIG LIES.

THEY WILL NEVER DO ANYTHING. For just 1000 or 2000.. they cant pay to courts...

You know guys.. one of my friend paid 1000 for getting a connection from Airtel and waited for 1 month. Then he got frustrated and cancelled the request. Still he dint receive his money back from Airtel. It was nearly 6 months back he raised the request. They are always eager to take your MONEY.

So, after getting frustrated with the calls from those girls.... I paid the amount which is a final settlement amount. After speaking with their manager (a guy) it was finally setteled by excluding the extra charges.

And regarding the modem they are not interested in paying you back the money you paid. They say you purchased it and it is yours.. and if you dont want it please return to the airtel service center .. free of cost. Which fool will give the modem back when he is not getting his money back.

I know this is a very big review.... and some of you might got frustrated with just reading the full review... then assume how much frustration I went through from the day I have taken connection.

Waiting for the connection

Wasting money on Customer care

Wasting time on customer care

Getting billed for the days for which you dint get connection.

wasting time speaking with the service center guys

Paying extra money unnecessarily.

And over ...... LOT OF HEADAKES AND SLEEPLESS NIGHTS.

So, .. guys.. NEVER , NEVER and NEVER go for AIRTEL connection. If you think you can handle all then its your wish.
