Think twice before you take this

Hi, I took the airtel scheme when it was launched. they promised an upcoming network with south indian states into a common network, which will grosely reduce my std bills. I took the sim but kept it under ’’safe custody’’ which will enable me to keep that no and to activate it when ever I want with a pament of mere 99/- per month till I activate it.

i gave my written consent to collect the billed amount from my credit card. and then the problem starts. my first month bill was 475/- and second month was another 250/-, (against nil usage) which was credited to my credit card. inspite of repeated calls to the custemer care and also the regional office, I got the least response. got vexed and gave them a letter to cancel my subscription in october ’03.

i asked them to settle my bill properly and pay back the amount, thats charged in excess. I got my bill settled in august ’03. I went to their office and met them atleast 6 times. every time there will be a new incharge and he will say he will look into the matter. atleast 3 of my friends, who did’t had the patience to go and meet them repeatedly, lost hope and til date their bills are not settled.

i dont know about the net work, as I never used it. but among my friends many have complaints of wrong and excess billing.

so please, think twice before you go for airtel.
