Worst service I have received in any country

I cannot compare to other Indian operators but frankly, Airtel is PATHETIC. I had better service in rural Uganda ten years ago!


I live in Mumbai and seriously they cannot get their act together.   Since starting I have had one issue after another. I cannot use the mobile app for payment. I asked about it and was told just pay another way. Well, why have it? When I lived in one location my employer hooked me up with Airtel landline and broadband. The internet constantly went off and the process to get it back on was a mission. Mainly because they would tell you to do all the things you had already done and refuse to accept that the problem was from their side, not yours.


When I moved, I wrote to cancel my account. I had to write three times. Even after I moved I was getting phone calls asking to confirm whether I was canceling. I had written three times and spoken on the phone three times when I got the last phone call I felt very angry with their time wasting.


Traveling - every place I had a problem with connectivity and in Kerala, it was next to impossible to buy airtime. I would travel to one of their so-called providers who would look at me blankly. Turns out they only sell the sim cards. And I could not top up online as I was out of data. Was pathetic. Traveling overseas I foolishly bought the roaming package for Europe which wasn’t cheap but I hate changing sims I am always scared I will lose them they are so tiny. It never worked. Attempting to follow up on this when I returned got me nowhere. 40 Euro down the drain. Thanks, Airtel


For the last month, I have been facing connectivity issues. I can’t be on the line more than a minute and the call cuts off with a horrible scratchy noise. And my phone constantly drops off the internet. Following up on this has been another mission. Every day I get calls than emails saying we tried to call you and this is now resolved. Every time I write or manage to speak to someone I say please communicate by email as THE ISSUE IS MY CONNECTION. I’ve had emails saying we have checked and it is your location as it has no 3 G and 4G. This is bogus, I live in Mumbai, and I have the same problem all over town. And my problem is not with Data it is with the phone connection. I’ve had an email telling me to take my sim out and put it in again. I pointed out that I have done this several times. Now I have a communication that there is no problem on their end and I need to change my sim as I’ve had it too long, the sim was last changed last July and it needs to be changed again(for which there is a long process involving photographs and documents). PATHETIC! That’s all I have to say. PAthetic and time wasting!
