Well , best way to know if the service provider is really interested in giving you a good service is to
call up the customer care number and see if you get herd by people .
Airtel will surely fail your expectations.
I strongly recommend you to make a customer care call from ANY airtel prepaid number before you decide on taking up a Airtel service , you can borrow a phone from any of your friends for this 15 min test ( 2.5 mins of dialing many times over in the 15 mins to get connected to customer service ) .
Mind you all the mobile connections are cheap , but before you switch over to any service provider , just include the cost and inconvenience of passing on the new number to all your contacts before discontinuing the old phone number.
May be the high switching costs are factored into when they decide the level of cusomer service that needs to be offered. In US you can carry the mobile number with you to any service provider , if this happens in india , I am sure the response from service providers would improve because customres will have the power to choose.
