I have refrained from writing a review so far because I think I am not qualified enough to write a review but after watching Aisha I think the movie deserves a review from me because I have the noble intention of saving a few souls from pure torture.
I wish I could say something about the plot of the movie like all other reviews but how I can I write about the plot of the movie when there isnt one? but only for you I have the inside scoop of how this movie was made.. What happened was one day the director of the movie read a book, she decided she will make a movie based on the book.. the first thing she did was run to a hi fi fashion store and buy all the available good looking clothes, and while shooting the movie she made sure that Sonam Kapoor looked perfect in each and every frame!!
But the poor director forgot all about things like story, characterization, screenplay, dialogues etc which are evident in other movies and what turned out was a utter disaster! This was supposed to be a woman centric movie? all it manages to be is a "Look at me, I am so stylish" centric movie.. I would have been a little considerate even if it managed to make me laugh at least in one scene!!
Now for the performances, Sonam Kapoor CANT act, even a ten year old kid who wants to miss school will act better than her. ( I am not being mean) . In fact in the scenes where Aisha is depressed and eating ice cream for comfort instead of sympathizing with the character you feel like slapping yourself. I dont know why a talented actor like Abhay Deol chose to do this movie.. well some questions dont have answers. As far the others are concerned, I have nothing much to say because Aishas clothes were talking more than the characters.
Apart from the lovely music of this movie there is absolutely nothing that I liked. I am sorry I dont follow fashion, so I dint enjoy the movie or the clothes.
Would I recommend this movie? Yes only if you want to damage a few cells and Grey matter in your healthy brain, otherwise a big NO.
