Aish-Abhishek engagement news is covered by every conceivable media. Looks like India is finally running out of content. I said why not on mouthshut then. It is another matter that whether they marry or not makes little difference to anybody. That is of course after leaving apart the left over heart broken eligible spinsters and bachelors. According to some surveys, 65% of people are against the marriage and 35% approve it. Most of the comments against the marriage argue that Aiswarya is not up to the mark to marry Abhishek. I am also against this match but for different reasons.
I feel that Abhishek is not suitable for Aishwarya. She is a self made person who has reached the pinnacle of success in her own right. Her international celebrity status is supreme among Indian women. Weighing her down as a bad actress is unfair. Bollywood definitely cannot pretend to have many great actors in its stable. Not in the lead roles at least. If anything, Aishwarya is one actress who looks extremely beautiful in real life as well as on screen. Manirathnam wouldn’t have risked his reputation if he did not have confidence in her acting abilities. If Abhishek, Salman Khan and Vivek Oberai wooed her, surely she has more than what it takes to be a good person.
As for Abhishek, minus the Bachan name, I doubt if any producer or director would have considered giving him even a minor role as an actor. His greatest achievement to date is his getting a lead role in Guru, which is bound to meet certain success because of Manirathnam’s reputation.
Aishwarya, bestowed with immense beauty and fame, deserves a far more accomplished man than Abhishek as her husband. Love they say is blind. Hope it remains so in this case.
