Aiyyaa +++ Helpless Lady in Cartoon land +++ *

What a woman wants? A complicated question with no answers to even ladies, Aiyyaa released this Friday tries to explore the life of a girl who lives in her dreams and searching for her prince. She is absolutely Filmy and compares herself with Indian Cinema super divas like Sieve, Juhi Chawla and Madhuri Dixit. As the normal scenario of Indian Middle class families her parents are worried with the thought of her marriage and to resolve the same put up one matrimonial advertisement in the newspaper.  Finally they zero down one decent guy but as usual, our lady heart is waiting for a prince charming with six abs physique and perfume like body odour which she can smell with her dog-nose. Will she get her prince charming? Will she accept her parents proposal or will kick out the butt of her proposed groom because she is indecisive, is what story revolves about.

Aiyya is highly disappointing in terms of story and screenplay with lots of cartoon characters filled in without making you laugh and you really cry to see  it  as Rani’s  comeback movie who has undoubtedly put her full dedication to the role she played but we cannot expect a driver to drive a car if car has no engine .

Movie  Analysis

1) Director, Story & Screenplay

Sachin Kundalkar, the director who is also the writer of the movie disappoints from both angles.

The script is completely hollow and screenplay seems to be forgotten. The characters are over dramatic and poorly sketched. There is nothing to be credited here. The movie has lots of Tamil dialogues which sometimes become confusion for North audience and director has not kept this thing in mind that every script cannot approach the global audience. This movie could work well in Tamil Version. Even what message director wants to convey to the audience is totally missing.

2) Music & Choreography

The songs are just average. ‘Dreammum wakeuppam’ as a beat is good and funky but Prithviraj does not suit in the flavor of the song. ‘Aga Bai’ is a visual treat and Rani puts extremely lot of energy and efforts for it but director ruins the pace of the song by showing storyline in between unlike you see it in TV or YouTube. ‘Mehak Bhi’ sung by Shreya Ghoshal is just average in terms of lyrics and melody. Lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya and Music composer Amit Trivedi won’t make you go sing Wakda.

3) Performances

Rani Mukherjee has given her 100% to the role she has performed but she is a victim of poor script, screenplay and direction. Prithviraj has limited appearance to prove much in this debut.

Amey Wagh as Meenakshi Brother , Jyoti Subhash as her grandmother, Satish Alekar as her father and Nirmiti Swant as her mother are over dramatic and over acted in their rRajeev_Vermactive roles, may be  director has chosen to be his characters like this. The Character Maina as Meenakshi Colleague and friend tries to portray herself as Desi Lady Gaga but again at one point of time you will say …Enough.

Only Subodh Bhave as Madhav and Meenakshi’s fiancé was pleasurable to watch as helpless groom.

At Last , Aiyyaa is not at all a family watch and donot bring your kids with you, You can watch it only for Rani  thou  152 mins of movie  length could be torturous
