Yet another non sense comedy film hit the screen with lovely promos and good looking chocolate star cast. But this is special one..why? Because its coming from the person who has given the bollywood one of the most finest film like Ghayal. So what went that wrong about this one? The answer is the actual story and the plot therein.
These days Bollywood is in the hysteria that people like to see their heroes doing stupid acts, they appear to be silly and unmatured all the time and would love to see them falling in love with no responsibility at all! Are we taking love for granted or that’s the only sweet side of life that we all as audience are ready to see?
I was indeed thinking that why our Prem (read any hero) is not qualified/educated or is becoming stupid day by day. Is he reflecting us as a society or is portraying as to what we should be or may be want to be? The current movie portrays Prem (Ranvir Kapoor) as a 9th std passed fellow who runs a "Happy club" as in the capacity of a President. This club is on its mission of trying to keep everyone happy. During this course of helping his friend, Prem meets Jenny (Katrina Kaif) and falls in love with her. Jenny is a matured girl who has her dream set for a perfect husband, a perfect home and a well organized life. Prem on the other hand is silly, uneducated and unfocused. Jenny is in love with Upen Patel (I forgot the name of the character) who is the son of a politician, is also highly educated and matured too. Upen and Jenny used to study together and now want to get married. But here is the problem, Upens father doesn’t want this marriage to happen just to make sure he doesn’t loose Hindu votes in the forth coming elections..... (Yawnnnnnnnnn) Now the only mission left with Prem is to make sure that the school kid lovers meet even if that meant to forgo his own first love. So will Prem succeed in his mission to make Jenny happy or will Jenny revert back to our hero? Why and how is what you see in this flick.
The plot on the paper seems to be ok but nothing new. There were some scenes that will make you laugh but actually nothing seem to be extraordinary at all. The first half was quick fire and flew instantly and the second half dragged so much that you would probably keep the keep the keys of your bike/car in you hands to just run out of the door once the credits roll! This flick was like someone is taking his hands into your throats to make you laugh - an almost a forced comedy with an unmatured script.
The only surviving factor of the film was the lovely songs in the film. Almost all the songs were good and "Tera hone lagaa hoon..." sung by Alisha and Aslam is a lovely song indeed. The cinematography was good too. Actually the one from Pune would recognize the Magarpatta city locations and the one from M.G road East street bus location. The locations are like Chco fantasy cake from Café coffe day – Lovely!
Ranivr is a chocolate boy and I feel that he might get fit into some hard core roles/touch roles which will make him a super hero in lines of SRK and Aamir. He will learn tough in some times to come. But such type of flicks will only make him a teddy bear of the bed rooms!
Katrina is getting better and better by the day and she has a lot of talent untapped. she will gradually be even more good if she gets something like Namaste London. Upen is for sure in the wrong career. His goat like accent is not only irritating but Is beyond “Crocin’s” credentials.
However, I have not recommended this movie, but feel it’s not extremely bad, but just a useless time pass. Watch it only if you have to see any film on the weekend and keep the brains in the freezer because this one was made without using any senses at all.....May be I am not ready to accept anything under the name of silly comedy and cant laugh if seems to be frivolous… take your call.
Enjoy.
