I went for this movie as I am a fan of Raj kumar santoshi and Andaz apna apna and that was the only time raj kumar santoshi came up with a comedy.
This time he has come up with romantic comedy and this time also raj kumar santoshi has tickled the funny bone. He has used similar situations which give you a pinch of andaz apna apna like’father upset with his awara son’, ’a poor don with huge influence’, ’ aap mahaan ho tope ho pope ho’ type dailogues etc. these things remind you of andaz apna apna and at the same time make you laugh in some cases. Comedy is good but the story does not have anything new to offer. Performance by ranbir is the USP of this film together with direction from Raj Kumar Santoshi and superhit songs.
overall I liked this movie but this movie failed to impress me as it has many scenes which are totally abrupt. for example- the scene from where the film starts it does not make sense in the movie till the end and I wonder why was this scene not edited. Apart from that there are many romantic scenes which make the pace of comedy slowed down.
basically I thought that this movie failed to impress me as a comedy movie and as a romantic movie. Raj kumar santoshi could have focussed on one aspect. I thought comedy was better than the romance.here, I would say that WELCOME was better in the terms that emphasis was more on comedy and background of love story was taken just to support it. I think same treatment should have been done to this movie to make it better.
You can go for it if you are in a mood of "paisa vasool" or "time pass" movie otherwise just enjoy its excellent music on your i-pod.
