Well Guys this is a very sad story about my very hard earned 20000 Rs..I
bought an AKAI television 29modle CT-209 DX three years back.Before making this foolish decision I went to every other TV showroom to have a look at other televisions also.The choices were Samsung, Onida, Sony etc.But all these were for a price between 28-35K.If I remember correctly it was Diwali time and AKAI was offering its 29 inch TV for a 2000Rs discount on original price which was 22000 with a 3 year warranty.There were ad for this in every other newspaper.So main bechara waqt ka maara AKAI le aaya.The TV performed OK for approx 1 year then ony day suddenly it stopped functioning .The Company service engineer came very next day after I called them.He tried to fix it for approx 2 hours but to no avail.He told me that the SMPS (power supply) has burnt.So he took it with him and said will replace it after 2-3 days.He again came back after 3 days and tried his best(HAHA) but same result.It happened a lot of times.3-4 engineers tried to fix it.But could not succeed.Every one of them told me some new faults every time.
To cut the story short.The TV is lying with AKAI authorised service centre for more than 1 year now and every time I call them or go there they say the parts are not available and blah blah..............And in the mean time AKAI has stopped the production of this TV.
Finally I have decided to go to consumer court and claim for compensation for the TV and the harassment caused.
I would like to have some comments from u people as to what should I do?
Has anyone faced this kind of problems with any of these products.
