As far as box office performance goes if there is someone who can be depended upon except the 3Khans in Bollywood its none other than our very own Akki baba ie Akshay Kumar.When Aamir Khan decided to do 1-2 films per year 3-4 years back two other actors silently pledged the same along with him.They were Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan.These actors who were primarily action heroes in the 90’s soon realised that mindless action flicks are not going to fetch returns any more and they need to do more meaningful roles be it in the comedy, emotional or serious cinema.Accordingly Akshay Kumar whose bread and butter was ’Khiladi’ action flicks in the 90’s which were nothing more than stunt films did a lot of comedy films which were hugely successful like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Phir Hera Pheri, Awara Paagal Deewana etc.He has also doner thrillers of Abbas Mastan like Aitraaz, Ajnaabe as well as family drama like ek rishta, Bewafa etc.Akshay Kumar is a big name in the box office circuit and has managed to retain his fans with comic capers and emotional stories.But though he has got awards for best comedian and villain but never has he got any award for the best actor in a lead role.
