Alcatel launched its Idol 4 smartphone in India priced at Rs. 16, 999. Following are review points I would like to share –
Build and Design – The design which makes it appealing and different is its design it has rear panel made of glass. For this device the available colors are Gold, Dark Grey, and Metal Silver. Its dimensions are 147x72.5x7.1 mm and it weighs just 135 grams. Its thin frame makes it easy to hold. One aspect of the design different from others is that the power button is on the upper left side, which is unusual and inconvenient. The volume related controls are kept on the right side.
Features and Specs –It has 5.2-inch full-HD(1080x1920-pixel) IPS LTPS display, which is nothing out of the ordinary. One good feature of this smartphone, it is its speakers. It has speakers at the top and at the bottom of the front with impressive volume and the quality of sound output.
The Key on the right can be customized according as user wants and can be set to launch any app with just one press which interesting and useful. It has a 13-megapixel rear and a front 8-megapixel shooter. Interesting camera feature is real-time face beautification though pictures are average.
It comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor with integrated Adreno 405 graphics, and has 3GB of RAM. Also Alcatel bundles a VR headset with this phone, which is lightweight and comfortable to wear. It has 16GB of built-in storage expandable up to 512GB using a microSD card. Also it has also has a 2610mAh battery.
In summary the qualities which makes it different from other smartphones and recommended are its price with design, real-time beautification, speakers, customizable key on the right.
